Beach Days & a Life Lesson

We arrived in Florida the night of Friday, July 11th. The next day we headed to Daytona beach. Here's a slideshow with some of our pictures:


A hurricane was brewing off the coast somewhere, so the day was overcast, the waves were really close to the shore, and the tide kept coming in much higher than expected. Here's the life lesson...We had parked on the beach because that's where we were directed. We figured if everyone else was doing it, we should be able to as well. A number of times throughout the afternoon various members of our group would comment, "Maybe we should move the car," as the tide got closer and closer to where we were parked. All of a sudden those of us who were sitting on the sand next to the van were soaked with the latest rush of water and the back wheels of the car were buried. The long and short of it is that if we had moved when we originally received these promptings, we would have saved ourselves a lot of hassle and time getting the car out. In the end, our van had to be attached to and pulled out by a large truck. This is so applicable to real life when we receive promptings to either stop doing something we shouldn't or start doing wholesome things we are presently leaving out of our lives in order to save ourselves from a lot of grief in the future.
